About development
Modern environmental safety requirements challenge society to prevent and mitigate the negative environmental impacts of accidents.
One of the most important challenges is the environmental safety of water bodies.
A number of environmental incidents and disasters have demonstrated the lack of a comprehensive solution for water monitoring, especially in areas of potential man-made hazards.
We present a domestically developed system: the EcoRadar radar hardware and software system—an oil spill detection system for monitoring water bodies, rivers, reservoirs, marine areas, and roadsteads.
This system is based on advanced domestic radar technologies, fundamental scientific research by Russian scientists in the field of wave phenomena, and proprietary algorithms and software based on neural learning and computing technologies.
It operates autonomously and automatically 24/7/365, monitoring waters within a radius of up to 2 km and can detect oil slicks and other surface-active substances on the surface with up to 98% accuracy. Radar information is transmitted remotely via the internet to a decision-making center at any location.
The system can be deployed either permanently at a specific location (object) or on a mobile platform—a vessel, vehicle, or trailer. The system's digital platform allows for the creation of a distributed monitoring network to cover large areas and obtain the most objective picture for the most effective and timely response.
EcoRadar PAK is a multifunctional system. Future expansion and development of the system will enable it to address such tasks as assessing ice conditions, wind and wave phenomena, protecting water areas (anti-terrorism), and providing target designation for UAVs and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to monitor remote and hard-to-reach areas.
